Green Parking

The parking lot will be made of materials that ensure the soaking of rainwater and the irrigation of surrounding plants. Up to 60 parking spaces will be created.

Green bus stops

Five bus shelters will be erected with green roofs and drainage of excess rainwater and plantings around. Thanks to the introduction of greening elements along with solutions to increase rainwater retention, the effect of urban heat island will be eliminated.

Complementing green elements and Renewable Energy Solutions

Promotion and use of renewable energy sources to minimize technical problems of urban infrastructure. Renewable lighting will be installed in 3 locations, and will include a wind turbine and photovoltaic panels. 7 green chargers will be powered by photovoltaic panels.

Three Generations Park

Creating a new park by developing wasteland, enriching the vegetation cover using native species that provide food base and shelter for animals. It is planned to increase water retention through active protection of wetland habitats and restoration of a small stream.

Revitalization of Planty Park

Restoration of Planty Park by restoring the retention capacity of the Little Pond, enriching the Big Pond with an aeration system along with a fountain and planting new shoreline plants, unsealing the surface of some alleys, enriching the multi-story park vegetation system with native species.

Revitalization and creation of new green spaces

Creation of new green areas and redevelopment of existing ones by making: an urban meadow, honey beds, a rain garden and a pocket park.

Tree planting and care

In order to reduce heat nuisance and reduce the urban heat island effect, trees will be planted near the transfer center, and the market plate will be shaded by planting 17 new trees with the provision of an irrigation system for them. Maintenance of the old-growth trees will also be carried out.

Bike Path

The planned pedestrian and bicycle path runs from the intersection in Mokre to Bujakow, its length is about 3.5 kilometers. Along the path, 350 trees and 1,600 shrubs will be planted, and three shaded parking areas will be created. To slow down surface runoff and increase retention, ditches and basins will be used, and wetlands and rain gardens will be created along the path. In addition, 1,200 sqm of the area will be sown with native perennials and grasses, which will also have a positive impact on water management.

Restoration and strengthening of the water retention system , rainwater management and enhancement of biodiversity in the space of the Silesian Botanical Garden

Restoration of retention in ditches receiving rainwater, restoration of hydrophytic ponds, creation of a retention trough with overflow to a new underground reservoir, filtration-infiltration ditches receiving water from new astatic tanks to a restored pond, habitat restoration.

Photovoltaic panels will be installed on the watchtower building, and a rainwater management system will be routed from the roof to a rain garden and underground reservoir.

Creating a place for education and fostering community activation: the wooden gazebo will have a green roof with drainage of excess rainwater into the ground and an underground reservoir; it will accommodate 80 people.

Pergolas over sidewalks

The made supports will be planted by climbing plants, thus reducing the feeling of heat and increasing the variety of species. The pergolas will be built near the playground.

Restoration of the retention capacity and landscape value of the 19th century pond in the Park in Mokrem

Drainage of the park pond, so that excess water will not overflow into the drainage ditch and further into the Promna stream, threatening to flood neighboring properties.
