As part of the implementation of the “Mikolow for Climate” project, a pedestrian and bicycle path linking the villages of Mokre and Bujakow will be built. This is the most expensive investment envisaged in the project, requiring the cooperation and involvement of many people. This month we held a site visit, thanks to which we were able to see for ourselves what a huge amount of work will have to be done.

The planned path will be about 3.5 kilometers long. Through the use of infiltration-filtration ditches and basins with emergency drainage, rainwater will be managed, in addition, wetlands and rain gardens will be created along the path. Three stops are planned, with shaded pergolas and seating areas and bike racks. Numerous plantings (350 trees and 1,600 shrubs, including fruit trees), as well as a 1,200-square-meter area sown with native perennials and grasses will improve water management, provide shade and enhance aesthetics.

On January 25 of this year, information on the selected contractor for the path was published, and design work is underway. The work is planned in three stages:
