Regarding the closing conference of the project “Mikolow for Climate – implementation of blue-green infrastructure in the city”

Dear Sirs,

We are pleased to inform you that the closing conference of the project “Mikolow for the Climate – implementation of blue-green infrastructure investments in the city”, implemented jointly by the Municipality of Mikolow, the Silesian Botanical Garden and the Liechtenstein Institute for Strategic Development, is coming up.

Comprehensive, i.e. including a component of adaptation, mitigation and educational activities, the project is based on the implementation of projects aimed at the creation and restoration of greenery along with on-site rainwater retention and management. It aims to increase Mikolov’s adaptive capacity and mitigate climate change by implementing blue-green infrastructure solutions and conducting an education and information campaign. The intention of the project is also to increase the awareness and social activism of residents in the field of climate and environmental protection and taking adaptation measures in private spaces.

The conference, to be held on April 10-12, 2024, will provide an opportunity to summarize the achievements of the project, share lessons and experiences gained during its implementation, and expand knowledge of selected adaptation measures and their impact on the functioning of cities. In addition, an additional element of the conference will be a training course on dendrological inventory and tree care aimed at officials, landscape architects AND others performing activities in investment processes.

We cordially invite you to attend and join us during these inspiring days, during which we will jointly analyze and promote blue-green infrastructure solutions and create perspectives for sustainable urban development.
